INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING.
ADMINISTRATION ENGINEERING
Hello Everybody and welcome to this Unit on administration engineering. We will be running a business just like in real life. please log in to the following link after you have received instructions from your teacher. In the meanwhile you can download the PDF file below and read the instruction to play this wonderful game.

MECHATRONIC ENGINEERING.
For this project students will develop the fastest solar panel car. They will use only recycled material and their engineering skills. |

WEEK 16.
Students will try out their bridge with a load. They will analyze where are the points of the bridge with more compression and tensión and see if they match the ones in their design.
First we will try to find a simulation mountain to try their bridges. Students will have a rubric to evaluate their work.
There will be three categories in which the bridge will be tested. One: Strength, Design, Presentation. After giving them the Rubric they will have 30 minutes to tweak any flaws in their bridge.

WEEK 15.
Class 1. and Class 2.
Remember that I suggested to change the scale of your bridge. Well I think this is very important to get a good construction. Please work on it this tuesday. And upload pictures on this LINK of your progress. Work very hard Tuesday and Wednesday and Hopefully you can present your bridges next week.
Don`t worry I`ll give you more time if you need to cut the members again.
Multiply each member by 2 and that will be the measurement in centimeters.

CLASS 1.
Hello everybody. Today you will develop background knowledge on bridge design.
Hello everybody. Today you will develop background knowledge on bridge design.
- Open West Point Bridge design software and go to the help menu.
- Open the foillowing URL so you can develop a mental map with the following information. https://bubbl.us/
- On the help menu of the WPBD software there is a folder that says How to design a bridge . Make a mental map with the information about Design specifications and the overview on how to design a bridge. All of these might have links to terms that you will need to explain on your final presentation of this challenge. So make sure to have everything on your mental map.
- After you finish the mental map you can export it as a JPEG and upload it HERE.

CLASS 1
Okay everybody it´s time to test our catapults!!
Okay everybody it´s time to test our catapults!!
WEEK 8.
During this week you will have time to finish your catapult and of course test it. Ask the substitute to let you out so you can test your design. Good luck and see you next week.
WEEK 6.
CLASS 1.
Students will start using their design to begin their work on the catapult.
Students will start using their design to begin their work on the catapult.
- Measure the base and analize if you have to scale the design to the original.
- Cut the parts and drill the holes.
- Use wood glue and nails or screws to attach the wood together.
CLASS 2.
Students will continue with assembling the catapult now with the wheels and the axis.
Students will continue with assembling the catapult now with the wheels and the axis.
- Attach the poles on each side and the diagonal bars.
- Build the arm
- Open the holes for the wheel axis.
WEEK 5.
CLASS 1.
Renderize the catapult. Understand the use of lights and environment. Print the JPEG and post it on the bulletinboard.

WEEK 4.
CLASS 1.
Designing our catapult. Part II. We will continue with the catapult design. The arm design and the rubber band will be developed in this class.

WEEK 3.
CLASS 1.
Introduction to our challenge. Students will develop a Catapult for their challenge. But in this class they will develop a super fast catapult using pencils and rubber bands. In teams of three, students will create a catapult that can launch a small eraser through the air. But first you should read about the mechanics of a Catapult.

CLASS 2
Designing our catapult. First we will understand how does a real catapult look like. Analize the parts and write down the lengths of each part. Start designing in Rhinoceros. I will show them how to do one of the pieces of the catapult, then the students will personalize the object on 3D using Rhinoceros. This activity will be developed in three classes.
